Weirton Youth Unite to Make a Difference and Begin Their Leadership Journey
Monday, October 20th, marked the official start of the first Weirton Youth Council aimed to empower the next generation of civic leaders. This pilot program, which includes fourteen select students from seventh through ninth grade, provides the youth of Weirton a platform to have a voice in shaping our city. Throughout the academic year, the Youth Council will participate in community service projects, observe city council meetings, voice youth-related concerns, discuss community issues, and develop their leadership skills through hands-on learning experiences.
