Ward VI - Council Member

Anthony Rocchio was elected in 2024 to serve the 2025 – 2029 term as Weirton’s Ward 6 Councilman. 

Born and raised in Weirton, Anthony has resided in Ward 6 his whole life. He is the youngest of seven children born to Frank and Antoinetta Rocchio. Councilman Rocchio has been married to his wife, Alyssa, a seventh grade ELA teacher at Weir Middle School, for twenty-nine years.  

After graduating Weir High School in 1978, Anthony worked at Weirton Steel before starting his forty-year career in management. Anthony has taken a variety of retail management courses throughout the years to support his management career which began with Sarvey’s Super Saver. Councilman Rocchio has also managed Kuhn’s Market in Pittsburgh, PA, Shop-N-Save in Imperial, PA, and is the current manager at the Weirton Shop-N-Save. 

When Anthony is not working, he enjoys riding his bike, walking, and restoring his 1968 Pontiac GTO.  Anthony is a devout Catholic who belongs to Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church. Councilman Rocchio will serve on the City of Weirton’s finance committee during his term. Anthony is honored to have been elected as the councilman of Ward 6 and is proud to represent not only his ward but all Weirton citizens.
