The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed December 3 as International Day of Disabled Persons in 1992. Observance of this day is to promote understanding of disability issues and to mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
In celebration of this day, the City of Weirton honors the commitment of the individuals and businesses who came together for the 2024 Disability Independence Celebration to create a week full of events for
