[ARCHIVED] Cloak & Dagger Goes Through the Looking-Glass on Saturday

Cloak & Dagger Goes Through the Looking-Glass on Saturday

Presents Brand-New Adaptation of Lewis Carroll Masterpiece

Weirton, W.Va., April 9, 2024—The Ohio Valley Cloak & Dagger Company continues its seventh season of Cloak & Dagger On the Air at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Top of West Virginia Convention & Visitors Bureau with Through the Looking-Glass (and What Alice Found There).

This brand-new adaptation by Cloak & Dagger On the Air creator and executive producer Pete Fernbaugh of Lewis Carroll's 1871 classic novel will feature a fresh take on beloved characters often seen in other media and will bring Kami Martin, a young up-and-coming performer, back to the Cloak & Dagger stage in the role of Alice. The show will be scored and accompanied by musician and area educator Lakin Weaver.

“Last April, we did a production of Lewis Carroll’s first Alice novel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” Fernbaugh said. “Our audience loved it, and they especially adored Kami as Alice. We look forward to audiences discovering the whimsy of the sequel and its eccentric characters like Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Red and White Queens, and Humpty Dumpty.”

Admission is free, although donations to help cover production costs are always appreciated. Light refreshments and water will be available.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. with live music by R.J. Gaudio, Troubadour, who will perform pop, rock, and folk music favorites. In addition, the program will livestream from The Ohio Valley Cloak & Dagger Company Facebook page starting at 3:30 p.m.

Also in the cast: Rob DeSantis, Bethany Fernbaugh, Pete Fernbaugh, David Gaudio, Nancy Longo, Karissa Martin, Malachi McClendon, Nathaniel McClendon, Ralph Parissi, Maura Danielle Reiff, Micah Underwood, and Gabriella West, with sound effects by the Holy Foley Molies.

“We’re excited to perform Through the Looking-Glass and to present the unique talents of our multi-generational cast to both the in-person and online audiences,” Fernbaugh said. “Carroll’s scenes are hilarious, his wordplay magnificent, and his characterizations inventive.”

Top of WV CVB is located at 3539 Main Street in Weirton, W.Va. Ample parking is available behind the building, where there is also an entrance. Individuals with mobility impairments may more easily enter through the building’s front entrance.
