Weirton POW, MIA, and KIA soldiers were honored today at a ceremony held to dedicate their banners to their new location at the Brooke-Hancock County Veterans Memorial
Park in Weirton, WV.
The ceremony included many notable moments including a proclamation from Mayor Dean M. Harris to the Brooke-Hancock County Veterans Memorial Park, Inc. Board; certificates of appreciation to Scott Marshall and Zachary Miser for the work they do with Weirton’s Military Banner Program; remarks from local and state officials; musical tributes to our country; a blessing of the banners from Rev. Dennis R. Schuelkens Jr. ; and an ending that included a 21-gun salute and Taps by the American Legion Post 10 Honor Guard.
