The Weirton Festival Committee’s Third Annual Christmas on Main Street’s Cutest Christmas Pet Photo Contest had its largest participation with 34 entries and over 6,500 votes.
The winners of this year’s contest are …………
First Place – Porscha (Memorial Photo)
Owner: Shelby Bell and Joesph Mastroianni
Summary: Porscha was a friendly cat and had to be the center of attention when people came to visit her family. Porscha’s favorite song was “As it was by: Harry Styles” and would run from wherever she was in the house to listen to the song when it came on. One of her favorite pastimes was to yell and get the birds she saw out her window. Porscha was a very comforting girl and was always cheering her family up when they were sick. Sadly, she ended up passing away October 21, 2024 due to a house fire. Her family thought the best way to show how much she was loved and will be missed was to enter a photo in her memory into the contest.
Second Place – Lily
Owner: Heather Littleton
Summary:
Meet Lily: An all-white cat with one blue eye and one green eye (which is pretty unique), but Lily’s unique eyes are just a small portion of what is truly unique about her.
Lily showed up on her owner’s porch in the fall of 2019 and instantly stole their hearts with her sweet face and friendly demeanor. From that day on, she has been their shadow. She adores spending time with her humans just as much as they love spending time with her! Every day when they get home from work, she greets them at the door, with a few meows and a-lot of purrs!
Lily’s hobbies include: playing with her toys especially her best friend, Dominic the Donkey (don’t worry he’s not a real Donkey, he’s stuffed) and watching her favorite show, Cat TV, on YouTube.
In her downtime, you can find her cuddled underneath her favorite soft blanket on the couch next to her fur parents. She also loves getting pampered by being brushed every night.
Lily holds a special place in her family’s hearts and is loved tremendously. She is absolutely purr-fect for their family. People say they rescued Lily, but the truth is she rescued them!
Third Place – Teddy Bear
Owners: Kim and Dave Parker
Summary: Teddy Bear is a one-year-old Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise' mix. He is soft and cuddly, and feels just like a teddy bear! Teddy Bear’s mom says he is a perfect companion! He loves to follow his mom around the house and sleep under her desk when he goes to her office! Teddy Bear loves his family which includes his mom and dad, human brother and sister and brother-in-law, two cat brothers and one cat sister. His favorite toys are miniature tennis balls, which he loves to chase after and swat under the couch, and his purple stuffed bunny which is almost as big as him! Teddy Bear also likes to wrestle with and chase his feline brother Sebastian. He is very smart and knows how to lay down, roll over, stand up, and speak! Teddy Bear is a perfect pup in the car! He loves to look out the window and, when he gets tired, he takes long naps. Everyone who meets Teddy Bear agrees that he is the cutest!
