A memorial ceremony took place in front of the Weirton Municipal Building today in honor of Peace Officers Memorial Day, which is on May 15, and falls during National Police Week.  During Police Week, we honor those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their communities.  Weirton F.O.P. Lodge 84 President Lt. Scott Schrader led the ceremony.  Mayor Harold E. Miller presented Lt. Schrader with a proclamation, and also honored Deputy Chief Scott Cook and his K-9 Officer Max, who passed away just last week.  Thank you to the Weirton Police Department for their dedication and commitment to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens.  Your sacrifices and bravery are commendable and appreciated.
