[ARCHIVED] Who you gonna call?

lightpoleserialnumber3

Who you gonna call?

 Winter is here.

The days are shorter, the nights are darker, and cold temperatures can turn simple puddles of water on the roads into sheer sheets of ice.

These kinds of conditions can make anyone nervous.

The last thing travelers need to worry about is darkened streetlights.

Fortunately, Monongahela Power Company (MonPower) has a special program in place that enables people to immediately report any outages on their city light poles.

There are three steps to the process:

 1. Locate the light pole's serial number. This will be etched into a metal marker attached to the pole. For example, E495.

 2. Call MonPower at 1-800-686-0022 or visit https://www.firstenergycorp.com/outages_help.html to report the outage. The serial number will inform them precisely which pole requires service.

 3. MonPower will take it from here. Outages are usually fixed within 3 days.
