Human Rights Commission
The Human Rights Commission shall be composed of 11 members, all residents of the City and representative of the groups protected by this article. The Human Rights Commission was established in 1964. The Council of the City of Weirton accepts applications for individuals who would like to serve on this commission, once they are reviewed by council, council appoints the members to the Human Rights Commission, however, a members whose term may expire has the opportunity to be reappointed to the commission. All terms of the commission expired on the 30th day of June and all new terms start on the 1st day of July the year that they are appointed.
The Human Rights Commission meets on the 4th Monday of every month, except July and August.
