As Mayor of the City of Weirton, I am here to give you an update on what the City officials and leaders are doing to help navigate our ever-changing environment due to the Coronavirus COVID-19. The health, safety, and well-being of our residents are our top priority.
As a precaution, the Municipal Building is closed to the public. Plans are in place to ensure our City is running efficiently.
Customers can pay utility bills online, via mail, call in, or utilize the drop box outside the building.
Fines and permits can also be paid – we have posted directions on Facebook and our website.
The trash pick-up dates and times are running as normal.
The Weirton Transit is still operating as normal.
The Millsop Community Center is closed to minimize risk.
The Mary H. Weir Public Library is closed to minimize risk.
Local organizations are pulling together to ensure our citizens have food. There is a list of these options on Facebook.
We will continue to monitor all CDC updates and make adjustments accordingly. We ask that you take necessary precautions as well to minimize exposure to your friends and family. This is uncharted territory, but our City will continue and we will persevere together. On behalf of the City Council and City Staff, be well and stay safe. May God bless and protect us all.
