POLICE OFFICER- City of Weirton, West Virginia
City of Weirton Police Civil Service Commission will be conducting a Probationary Patrol Officer Exam.

Deadline to submit an application along with Doctor’s Physical Examination is Friday, June 29, 2018, at 4:00 p.m.

Physical Agility Exam to be given beginning, Saturday, July 7, 2018. Registration begins promptly at 8:30 a.m., Physical Agility Exam  at 9:00 a.m.

Written Exam to be given on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Registration begins promptly at 8:30 AM at The Millsop Community Center’s Weirton Room.

Minimum starting salary is $18.18 per hour (non-certified), and $19.42 per hour (certified), including health, and other supplemental benefits which are available in detail at the City Clerk’s Office. The Police Civil Service Commission will award preference points to veterans and/or candidates with prior police experience. Certified documentation will need to be provided in accordance with WV State Code. 

Once hired, residency requirements do apply. Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 35.

Candidates must apply at the City Clerk’s office starting February 20, 2018,  at the Weirton Municipal Building, 200 Municipal Plaza, Weirton, WV 26062, between the hours of 9AM-5PM, Monday through Friday.
