Mayor Harold E. “Bubba” Miller is serving his second term as Weirton’s Mayor, and is the first Madonna High School graduate to be elected Mayor of the City of Weirton. Mayor Miller retired from Weirton Steel with 32 years of experience and held the position of General Manager in Sales and Services.
Before serving as Mayor for the City of Weirton, he represented Ward II as their Councilman from 2003 to 2011.
Mayor Miller has belonged to many clubs and organizations, including his church’s Parish Council, Weirton Jaycee’s, and the Comfort House Child Advocacy Center. The Mayor continues to serve on multiple boards and volunteer in community organizations and causes, including serving as President to the Weirton Renaissance Corporation.
The Mayor is recognized as the Chief Executive of the City for all civil and ceremonial purposes and for acts or transactions involving the preservation of law and order, and the application to the City of military law. In addition, the Mayor presides at council meetings; appoints members of advisory boards, commissions, and committees (with the consent and approval of council); and assists the City Council with policy decisions.
